Rename a Sybase Server
(1) either drop user and add server with desired name using
sp_dropserver and add server
or update sysservers table directly for srvname column
(2) Shut down the server
(3) Edit interface files
(4)Edit servername in Run_SERver file for -S parater , rename
RUN_SERVER file
(5) Rename existing .cfg file in $SYBASE dir
(6)Rename .cfg and errorlog file for server name in RUN_SERVER file
(optional - change errorlog file name , if you have servername
suffixed with it and if you want to change it)
(7)Modify DSQUERY and DSLISTEN for correct servername
(8(startserver
-Check for sysservers in any other servers and repeat step1 if your
server was added as remote server
